E3 Going Away

Changing Format To Something Else

Got the news today that E3 will be changing formats pretty drastically. As in, from Electronic Entertainment Expo to Electronic Entertainment Conference. First thought: with E3 gone, will PAX be the largest gaming convention on this continent? update 2006.08.01 @19:55

No Need For Speed

Already Got It…

I ordered a new server at work, and until we have time to get it rolled out [0], it lives on my desk. This server has two 3.2 GHz Xeon processors (for a total of four cores), 4 GB of RAM, and a RAID 5 array totalling 500 GB of disk space. Since it has no OS and no purpose at the moment [1], I’m running Knoppix on it, from RAM. You have never seen Firefox open so fast… [0] This just means one late night at the office, if all goes well.
[1] I’ve only been able to come up with a few menial tasks for it, like compressing large files. It’s kind of depressing to just let it idle on my desk all day.
